Activities Specialist – Intensive Day Treatment

The Activities Specialist – Intensive Day Treatment role is onsite in Wetumpka, Alabama. Pay is $14–$21.30 per hour. The position supports Carastar Health’s Intensive Day Treatment Program for people with serious mental illness. The specialist develops and provides therapeutic activities that support self-care, home management, social adjustment, and independent living skills. The role contributes to treatment goals through direct services, observation, documentation, and coordination with clinical staff.

What you'll do

• Coordinate and provide therapeutic activities
• participate as a day treatment team member
• complete client records and agency paperwork
• document services in the electronic health record
• observe functioning and consult clinical staff about concerns
• participate in clinical staffing
• document progress toward treatment goals
• assist with curriculum, activities, and groups
• monitor safety, interactions, and behavior
• transport clients to appointments or activities
• participate in required training
• provide at least 20% of overall time in direct service.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field, or a high school diploma or equivalent plus at least two years of experience. Current First Aid, CPR, MAC Training, and CPI certificates are required.
