IT Healthcare Consultant, Project Manager

Job overview

The IT Healthcare Consultant, Project Manager role is initially fully onsite in Columbia, SC, for 30–90 days and may transition to a hybrid schedule at the manager’s discretion, with at least three onsite days per week under the ongoing hybrid model. Compensation is not specified. The 12-month assignment may be extended and supports healthcare system operations, including Medicaid-related systems. The role coordinates operational support and project delivery across systems, vendors, and stakeholders. It is intended to maintain reliable production operations, manage incidents and releases, and ensure that system changes and support processes meet applicable security and program requirements.

What you'll do

• Oversee daily MMIS, Encounter Processing System, and supporting-system operations
• coordinate with vendors, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and stakeholders
• monitor vendor SLAs
• develop operational documentation and train team members
• lead production support, helpdesk, interface/EDI support, stakeholder monitoring, and UAT
• manage incidents, tickets, escalations, and resolution
• track operational risks and compliance findings
• lead release management and implementation readiness
• support change management and backlog prioritization
• assign workload and guide teams.
