What you'll do

• Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes and modifiers to designated facility-based ancillary, emergency, observation, and outpatient surgery accounts
• abstract and enter coded data or charges
• query physicians when clinical information is unclear or inconsistent
• communicate documentation-improvement opportunities and coding issues
• coordinate with Clinical Documentation Improvement and Revenue Cycle teams
• meet productivity and quality requirements
• maintain coding credentials.
