The Senior Fire Protection Engineer — Architectural Design role is hybrid in Chantilly, VA. Compensation is $120,000–$160,000 per year. exp Federal provides architectural, engineering, design, and construction support to federal government clients. The role exists to develop comprehensive fire protection and life-safety design packages in collaboration with architects and engineers. It contributes to federal projects through system design, code analysis, building investigations, and coordination across the architectural design team. Travel within and outside the continental United States is required.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with architects and engineers on fire protection and life-safety design packages
• design fire alarm and mass notification systems, fire suppression systems, smoke control, and stairwell pressurization systems
• conduct building and life-safety code analysis
• investigate water supplies and conduct hydrant flow tests
• investigate existing buildings for deficiencies
• and travel within and outside the continental United States.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree in fire protection or a related field, a Fire Protection Engineering license, 10+ years of A&E industry experience, and ability to obtain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required. Revit, AutoCAD, FDS, CONTAM, HASS, and a U.S. Department of Defense clearance are preferred.
