PLC Technician

Job overview

Compensation is $34–$47 per hour. The PLC Technician role is onsite in Bridgeport, AL. The position supports USG’s manufacturing operations, where the company produces building products and systems. The technician maintains and troubleshoots industrial control systems to support safe, reliable plant operations. The work includes programming, instrumentation, and technical support for PLC and HMI systems, as well as documenting improvements and maintaining program backups.

What you'll do

• Follow plant safety and operating procedures
• maintain PLC programming standards and version control
• understand plant process networks and PLC equipment
• back up process-control programs and HMI applications
• interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic
• install, troubleshoot, calibrate, or start up equipment using diagnostic software
• maintain and calibrate instrumentation
• document control environments and recommend improvements
• provide technical support for PLC, I/O drivers, and HMI programming
• respond to call-ins as needed.
