Staff Accountant, Accounts Receivable and Billing

The Staff Accountant, Accounts Receivable and Billing works 100% onsite in Oklahoma City, OK, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Pay is $23–$26 per hour. The role supports a state health agency team administering insurance benefits and related financial operations. The accountant processes and reconciles payments and accounts, resolves billing discrepancies, and maintains accurate, confidential records. This work helps keep public insurance and benefits programs operating accurately and on schedule.

What you'll do

• Post member and employer payroll payments within four business days
• reconcile group insurance accounts within five business days
• review and record accounts receivable transactions
• manage refund requests, NSF returns, write-offs, and un-refunds
• process workflow referrals, mail, queries, and financial projects
• resolve billing discrepancies
• review documentation for compliance with unit rules, HIPAA, and confidentiality requirements.
