Floor Care Specialist — Commercial Floor Maintenance

The Floor Care Specialist works onsite at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut. The schedule includes Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., plus either Monday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Friday, 12:30 p.m.–9:00 p.m. Compensation is $20.50 per hour. CW Resources is a national nonprofit providing mission-driven services and employment opportunities, including through the AbilityOne Program. The role maintains clean, safe floors using manual methods and floor-care equipment, including buffers, scrubbers, and carpet extractors. It also supports facility safety by addressing spills and hazards, following chemical and equipment procedures, and reporting equipment or floor issues.

What you'll do

• Clean and maintain tile, vinyl, carpet, and concrete floors
• operate buffers, auto-scrubbers, extractors, burnishers, and vacuums
• strip and apply floor coatings
• deep-clean carpets
• follow safety procedures and use PPE
• clean and store equipment
• report equipment issues, supply needs, and floor damage
• and keep floors free of spills and hazards.
