Community Engagement Project Leader — Domestic and Sexual Violence Outreach

Job overview

The Community Engagement Project Leader role is onsite in Plattsburgh, NY, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; some nights, weekends, and holidays are needed to support 24/7 hotline coverage. Pay is $20.44–$22.48 per hour. The role supports BHSN’s STOP DSV program in Essex County. The project leader provides advocacy and direct support to victims and survivors of intimate partner and sexual violence, while coordinating outreach and education. The role builds community connections and helps people access safety planning, housing, transportation, and other services.

What you'll do

• Provide emergency support and advocacy
• coordinate educational presentations and community events
• build relationships with community partners
• provide supportive counseling, transportation, safety planning, safe housing, childcare, court petition and compensation-claim assistance, and follow-up as appropriate
• maintain program records and confidentiality
• provide backup volunteer hotline coverage outside business hours
• participate in trainings, meetings, and agency initiatives.
