The Cloud Engineer – AWS Data Platforms role is onsite in Dahlgren, VA, supporting JWAC under the Air Force JITS contract. The salary range is $150,000–$170,000 per year. The role supports cloud environments for data pipelines, analytics, and AI/ML services. The engineer designs and improves AWS platforms that enable data and application workloads, emphasizing automation and coding rather than routine infrastructure administration. The work helps developers deploy and operate secure, scalable data services while monitoring performance, availability, and cost.

What you'll do

• Design, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud-native environments for data ingestion, processing, storage, search, analytics, and AI/ML workloads
• use AWS managed and serverless services
• automate provisioning, configuration, deployment, monitoring, and recovery
• support containerized or Kubernetes workloads
• partner with developers on pipelines, APIs, integrations, and workflow automation
• apply cloud security controls
• monitor performance and cost
• and document architecture and operating procedures.

Why this role
