Information Security Officer

Job overview

The Information Security Officer role is remote within the Eastern time zone; compensation is $112,800–$160,000 per year. The role supports a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services program at eSimplicity, a digital services company partnering with government agencies. The role provides security compliance, risk, vulnerability, audit, and continuous monitoring support. It helps maintain authorization readiness, address findings, and communicate security risks and remediation actions to CMS and program stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Advise CMS ISSOs, product owners, engineers, infrastructure teams, and program leadership
• interpret FISMA, NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and CMS ARS requirements
• develop and maintain security control statements and authorization artifacts
• lead Security Impact Analyses
• support assessments and audits
• validate and track vulnerability and compliance findings through remediation and closure
• support continuous monitoring and reporting
• identify gaps and recommend corrective actions
• develop security metrics and risk summaries
• and mentor security team members. Occasional travel for training and project meetings is estimated at less than 5% per year.
