Job overview

The Events Staff role is onsite in Pittsburgh, PA, and requires evening, weekend, and extended-hours availability on an as-needed basis. Compensation is $18 per hour. The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh provides museum experiences intended to inspire kindness, joy, creativity, and curiosity for learners. This role helps the Events Operations team coordinate and facilitate event rentals by preparing spaces and equipment, supporting event operations, and restoring spaces afterward. It also provides on-site assistance to help events run safely and on schedule.

What you'll do

• Set up and tear down events according to provided directions and floor plans
• arrange seating and tables in compliance with building and fire codes
• care for, move, store, and inspect equipment
• set up lighting and sound equipment
• provide customer service and information to event-goers
• keep event spaces clean and organized
• remain onsite during events to support timelines, safety, and service
• help return the museum and grounds to pre-event condition.

Why this role

Union position. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; FBI fingerprint, Pennsylvania Child Abuse Act 33, and Pennsylvania Criminal History Act 34 clearances are required. Must be able to lift or move up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 65 pounds with assistance.
