The Trash Technician role is onsite at St. Joseph Medical Center in Houston, Texas, with a 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. shift and a Monday–Friday and weekend schedule. Pay is $11.00 per hour. The role supports a safe, clean, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors at the healthcare facility. The technician collects, segregates, transports, and disposes of waste in accordance with hospital protocols, regulatory requirements, and infection-control procedures. The work also includes cleaning waste-handling areas, documenting removal, and coordinating with Environmental Services colleagues to maintain safe and timely operations.

What you'll do

• Collect and dispose of general, biohazardous, recyclable, pharmaceutical, and other waste
• segregate and transport waste to designated areas
• follow hazardous-waste, OSHA, PPE, and infection-control procedures
• clean and sanitize bins, carts, containers, hallways, utility rooms, and loading docks
• maintain waste records and removal schedules
• report hazards and equipment issues
• coordinate with Environmental Services staff
• perform deep-cleaning projects as assigned.
