The role supports the expanding accounting team of a multi-practice commercial law firm with multi-office financial operations across multiple states and jurisdictions. The position produces financial reporting and analysis that supports firm leadership and operational decisions. It contributes to accurate close, audit, tax, budgeting, and control processes while mentoring junior accounting staff and improving financial procedures.

What you'll do

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple offices and entities
• manage general ledger activity, journal entries, reconciliations, trust accounts, and multi-state tax obligations
• support month-end and year-end close
• coordinate with the CFO and external auditors on audits and tax preparation
• maintain GAAP and reporting compliance, chart of accounts, and fixed asset records
• conduct budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, and variance analysis
• provide profitability metrics, financial insights, and executive summaries
• lead audit preparation, evaluate internal controls, recommend process improvements, conduct risk assessments, and mentor junior staff.
