What you'll do

• Assess, monitor, and document patients before, during, and after endoscopic procedures
• verify patient, procedure, and physician using safety time-out protocols
• explain care and provide reassurance and education
• administer ordered medications
• report abnormal findings or complications
• monitor anesthesia recovery and prepare patients for discharge
• prepare rooms and equipment
• assist with positioning and monitoring
• handle and log specimens
• follow disinfection, sterilization, infection prevention, and documentation requirements
• and participate in safety and quality improvement efforts.
