Water Operator IV

The Water Operator IV role is onsite in Salt Lake City, UT. Pay is $25.04–$41.67 per hour. The position supports the City of South Salt Lake Public Works Water Division by maintaining the city’s water infrastructure.

What you'll do

• Install, operate, maintain, and repair water storage, transmission, and distribution systems
• monitor system pressures and telemetry
• inspect and service water meters, lines, connections, and fire hydrants
• respond to customer requests and water-system issues
• operate equipment and complete work records
• assist with sampling, testing, pressure-reducing valves, and booster pump stations
• participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency calls as required.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or GED, four years of related construction, plumbing, or similar experience including two years in water-system maintenance and repairs, a valid Utah Class A commercial driver license, and Grade IV Distribution Water Operator certification. Flagger certification, ATSSA Traffic Control Technician certification, and tanker endorsement must be held or obtained within six months of hire.
