Cloud Database Engineer

Job overview

The Cloud Database Engineer role is onsite every other week, with five onsite days in Westlake, TX during those weeks. Pay is $63–$68 per hour on a W-2 basis. The engineer supports a client’s operational and analytical database workloads. The role designs, operates, and secures scalable AWS database platforms, supporting reliability, performance, automation, and disaster recovery. It collaborates with application, data engineering, and platform teams to optimize database use and enterprise data services.

What you'll do

• Design, deploy, and manage AWS database solutions
• support Oracle RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB through tuning, capacity planning, and incident management
• implement replication and migration using AWS DMS and Oracle GoldenGate
• support Snowflake environments and analytics workloads
• onboard and optimize database usage with application and data teams
• automate provisioning, monitoring, patching, and failover
• ensure security and governance compliance
• improve reliability, resiliency, and cost optimization
• support disaster recovery, cross-region replication, and high availability.
