Job overview
The Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA), Perioperative Services role is onsite in San Luis Obispo, CA. The schedule is rotating weekday 5x8 shifts, with start times of 6:00 a.m., 8:30 a.m., or 10:00 a.m.; the assignment is 13 weeks. Pay is $78–$80 per hour, or $3,120–$3,200 per week. The role supports Adventist Health Sierra Vista, an acute care hospital.
What you'll do
- Assist surgeons during operative procedures
- maintain a sterile environment and aseptic technique
- prepare and safely position surgical patients
- support perioperative care and documentation
- handle surgical equipment, tissue logs, and biohazard materials
- and collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams. An active California RN license, RNFA experience, ACLS, BLS, PALS, and operating room experience are required
- experience with spine, orthopedic, and robotic surgeries is also required.
