What you'll do

• Coordinate dispensing of unit-dose medications, intravenous admixtures, investigational and research drugs, and other pharmaceuticals
• identify and monitor patients’ pharmaceutical needs
• review charts or interview patients and care providers to maintain medication records
• identify drug therapy concerns and recommend solutions
• verify medication orders and prepared medications for completeness, legality, dose, route, frequency, and duration
• supervise supportive personnel
• participate in education and training for pharmacy students, residents, fellows, and staff
• provide drug and poison information
• conduct assigned nursing unit reviews
• assist with staff evaluations
• monitor therapeutic responses and provide pharmacokinetic dosing consultation as needed.

Why this role

Requires a degree from an accredited college of pharmacy and Michigan pharmacist licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure within 30 days of hire. Hospital pharmacy residency is strongly preferred.
