IT Technician

Job overview

The IT Technician role is onsite in Buda, TX, with daily onsite work required. Compensation is not specified. TerraFirma is automating construction to make it faster, cheaper, and safer, and this role is its first in-house IT field technician position. The technician keeps employees, devices, and buildings operational as the company grows. Working with the IT Director, the role prepares and redeploys equipment, resolves user issues, maintains hardware inventory, installs network cabling and devices, and supports office and network projects.

What you'll do

• Prepare and hand off computers, tablets, and peripherals for new employees
• wipe, reimage, and redeploy equipment
• enroll devices in MDM platforms
• maintain hardware inventory
• manage the IT help Slack channel and escalate issues
• troubleshoot hardware, Wi-Fi, printer, sign-in, and application problems
• run, terminate, label, and test Cat6/Cat6A cable
• mount and connect network devices
• coordinate with outside vendors
• carry out IT projects
• document fixes and suggest improvements.
