The Entry-Level Security Analyst — South Carolina DMV role is onsite in Blythewood, SC; compensation is $30–$33 per hour. The DMV Security Team works to protect sensitive citizen data and maintain the integrity of motor vehicle licensing and titling systems. The role supports the department’s security posture through threat research, log review, incident triage, vulnerability management, and security awareness work. It contributes by identifying and documenting potential threats, escalating findings to senior analysts, and supporting response and remediation activities; training is provided for the listed tasks.

What you'll do

• Monitor threat intelligence feeds and document emerging threats
• use OSINT tools to gather information on risks and adversaries
• search network and endpoint activity for suspicious behavior
• collaborate with senior analysts to refine and test detection rules
• review firewall, endpoint, and server logs
• escalate anomalies and unauthorized access attempts
• assist with initial incident triage and evidence gathering
• document incident findings and contribute to containment and remediation
• prepare reports and training materials
• analyze vulnerability reports and prioritize patching
• use SCCM, GPO, and PowerShell for patch deployment and automation
• configure endpoint policies, analyze alerts, and manage endpoint protection.
