Security Officer

The Security Officer role is onsite in Miami, FL; compensation is not specified. The position is in Camillus House’s Security Department and reports to the Director of Security. Camillus House provides housing, healthcare, and supportive services to people who are poor and homeless in South Florida. The officer helps protect clients, staff, visitors, property, and the campus community through patrols, safety monitoring, rule enforcement, and emergency response. The role requires a flexible schedule that includes mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays, with listed shifts of 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, and 11:00 PM–7:30 AM.

What you'll do

• Patrol campus grounds and buildings and check doors, windows, and gates
• monitor for fire, hazards, and dangerous conditions
• conduct dormitory checks
• identify and report damage, malfunctions, suspicious activity, and safety risks
• support compliance with campus rules
• issue traffic and parking citations when appropriate
• respond to routine service requests
• provide event security and crowd control as assigned
• maintain a welcoming and professional environment.

Why this role
