Lab Assistant – 3rd Shift, 9 PM–5:30 AM

The Lab Assistant role is onsite in Marlborough, MA, on the third shift from 9 PM to 5:30 AM, at $16.20–$20 per hour depending on experience. The position performs routine laboratory functions to assist laboratory professionals and facilitate production. The assistant supports specimen testing by receiving, preparing, storing, and retrieving samples, maintaining equipment and records, and completing quality tasks. Following safety and PPE requirements helps protect staff and maintain reliable laboratory operations.

What you'll do

• Sort and receive specimens
• perform routine instrument maintenance
• centrifuge specimens, print labels, record temperature data, and store and retrieve specimens
• prepare reagents or media
• prepare specimens for testing, including worklists, aliquoting, clot and fibrin checks, inoculation, and slide preparation
• perform assigned QA/QC duties
• resolve pending lists and locate missing samples
• decontaminate work areas
• perform weekly radioactive wipe tests
• maintain records
• change gas cylinders
• follow PPE and safety rules
• dispose of biohazardous material
• complete training and competency checklists.
