The Direct Care Garden/Horticulture Crew Leader role is onsite in Mill Spring, NC, with starting pay of $20 per hour, increasing based on experience. Cooper Riis is a therapeutic healing community; the garden program supports residents’ recovery through engagement, productivity, and contribution. The crew leader coordinates garden activities and leads the crew while connecting garden work with residents’ recovery plans. The role maintains the gardens and supports residents and staff through organized, purposeful horticultural activities.

What you'll do

• Lead the garden crew and organize daily tasks
• collaborate with residents’ recovery teams
• attend recovery planning meetings
• document information in residents’ electronic health records or communicate it to their teams
• guide support staff and interns
• coordinate produce availability with the kitchen
• maintain fields, gardens, supplies, and equipment
• develop annual garden plans and crop rotations with the program manager
• order seeds and plants
• maintain a safe, orderly work environment.
