Senior Software Engineer — Cloud Software

Job overview

The Senior Software Engineer — Cloud Software role is remote, with onsite travel approximately once per month, typically for up to one week at a time; the preferred location is the Washington, DC Metro area. Compensation is up to $185,900 base salary, plus bonus, stock options, and benefits. The role supports LeoLabs’ Cloud Software team, which builds software for real-time decisions involving objects in low Earth orbit. The engineer designs, delivers, operates, and monitors reliable, secure, high-performance software across the platform lifecycle. The work contributes to satellite tracking, customer analytics, radar tasking, and data delivery for commercial and government missions; the role includes on-call support and requires active TS/SCI clearance.

What you'll do

• Develop full-stack software for key initiatives, particularly DOD/IC contracts
• translate customer needs into engineering requirements
• ensure production reliability, observability, security, and performance
• own system components through development, operation, monitoring, and on-call support
• use generative AI to improve software quality and security.
