The Program Specialist, STAR Teen Outreach role is onsite at Quioccasin Middle School in Henrico, VA. Compensation is $13–$15 per hour. The position supports the Tuckahoe Family YMCA’s STAR after-school outreach program for teens. Working with the lead program specialist, this role helps deliver academic, recreational, and enrichment activities while maintaining a safe and supportive environment. It contributes to the program’s goal of strengthening teens academically and recreationally and building positive relationships with students.

What you'll do

• Assist with facilitating STEM projects, recreational activities, and enrichment sessions
• build relationships with students
• supervise youth during program hours
• help maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
• assist with setup, cleanup, materials organization, attendance tracking, and general program flow.

Why this role

The schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:00–5:30 p.m., October through April, for 12 hours per week. Applicants must be at least 18, have a high school diploma or GED, and have at least six months of programmatic experience. Experience with multilingual learners and middle school youth is preferred; dual language skills are a plus, not required.
