Quality Engineer, HTS Magnet Production and SPARC

The Quality Engineer role is onsite in Devens, MA, with a stated salary range of $107,000–$160,000 per year. Commonwealth Fusion Systems is working to deliver fusion energy and develop commercially viable fusion power plants. The engineer oversees off-shift manufacturing quality for HTS Magnet production and the SPARC Project, maintaining process stability and resolving defects so complex, first-of-a-kind hardware meets engineering requirements. The role partners with Manufacturing and Engineering to investigate root causes, manage non-conformance workflows, and implement corrective actions.

What you'll do

• Own the production-floor non-conformance report workflow
• lead material disposition and 8D root cause analysis
• implement corrective and preventive actions
• execute quality and process plans
• monitor process health, defects, inspection results, and measurement systems
• provide off-shift inspection oversight
• refine manufacturing instructions
• document supplier-related defects
• support supplier quality
• occasionally work nights, weekends, or on-call as required.
