What you'll do

  • Greet patients
  • complete check-in and check-out
  • verify insurance
  • answer routine appointment, authorization, payment, billing, and scheduling questions
  • manage referrals and appointments
  • handle patient calls and messages
  • maintain faxes, mail, files, and databases
  • process forms and use phone and electronic medical record systems
  • coordinate provider scheduling preferences and urgent needs
  • orient new Patient Administrative Specialist staff
  • support specialized functions including new-patient coordination or surgery scheduling.
