The Head of Quality — Cell Therapy role is onsite in Redwood City, CA. Compensation is $230,000–$280,000 per year, with generous equity also described. Retro develops therapies focused on cellular reprogramming and autophagy, with the aim of extending healthy human lifespan. The role leads the Quality and Analytical Development team, builds the Quality Unit supporting internal cGMP manufacturing, and guides analytical work across cell-therapy programs. It helps ensure phase-appropriate quality systems, reliable analytical methods, and patient-safety-centered decisions as programs advance toward clinical use.

What you'll do

• Lead and develop the Quality and Analytical Development team
• own the phase-appropriate QMS and independent Quality oversight for internal cGMP cell-therapy manufacturing
• partner with R&D, Process Development, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and Clinical teams on quality attributes, control strategies, specifications, and process parameters. Guide analytical methods from development through validation, transfer, QC implementation, and monitoring
• oversee GMP records, deviations, CAPAs, change controls, qualification and validation, batch documentation, and product disposition or release
• support investigations and regulatory submissions
• and coordinate oversight across other programs as needed.
