The Automated Side Loader Operator (ASL) Driver role is onsite in Hubert, NC, with pay of $25–$30 per hour. Coastal Sanitation of NC’s residential collection team collects waste and recycling and provides service to customers. The driver safely operates an automated side-loader on residential routes, transports collected materials to designated facilities, and completes inspections and required records to support reliable collection and safe operations.

What you'll do

• Operate an automated side-loader to collect residential waste and recycling
• operate the collection arm and mechanical packer
• transport materials to designated landfill, recycling, or post-collection facilities
• address route conditions and assist with manual collection or loading when operationally necessary
• maneuver safely in residential areas
• conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete vehicle, route, productivity, and DOT records
• report mechanical problems, hazards, damage, accidents, and service issues
• follow company safety procedures and applicable DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA regulations.

Why this role

Requires a valid Class A CDL, at least 21 years of age, clean motor vehicle record, and at least two years of automated side-loader experience. High school diploma or GED is preferred but not required; Labrie equipment experience is strongly preferred.
