The Sonographer supports ultrasound services including adult and pediatric general, vascular, neuro, and routine GYN exams as well as ultrasound-guided biopsies. Job duties include on-call and holiday coverage rotations. As a 24/7/365 department, circumstances may require employees to temporarily work a shift other than those for which the application is made.

What you'll do

• Performs Ultrasound exams following protocols and in a timely manner
• Competent use of all machines
• Familiar with exams in all service lines
• Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of probes
• Compliance with quarterly targeted metrics
• Takes patient history and retrieves orders/prior images
• Provides patient history/signs/symptoms to radiologist
• Appropriately completes documentation
• Coordinates patient flow
• Informs patient about procedure and answers questions
• Interacts and professionally communicates with physicians, patients and family members
• Contributes to after hour coverage through on-call shift rotations
• Contributes to holiday staffing coverage
• Maintains all licenses, certifications and accreditations
• Daily upkeep of departmental work areas
• Promotes customer service initiative
• Supports and participates in quality (QI) and performance improvement (PI) plans
• Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to age groups served.

Why this role

Graduate accredited RDMS or ARRT program REQUIRED; ARDMS registered or registry eligible. ARRT (SON) will be considered; If not registered upon hire, candidate will be required to attain certifications in ARDMS within 6 months of hire date; Vascular (RVT or RVS) ultrasound PREFERRED; Current BLS REQUIRED.
