The role exists to provide comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care for an assigned group of patients. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the full nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe and effective clinical services.
What you'll do
- Direct and coordinate nursing care, including oversight of licensed and unlicensed personnel.
- Coordinate involvement of the patient, family, and health team members in patient care, including teaching and discharge planning.
- Communicate and coordinate the plan of care with other health care team members.
- Assist leadership to define standards of excellence for patient care.
- Participate in performance improvement and quality improvement activities.
- Participate in orientation of new staff members.
- Act as a point of contact on hospital and departmental policies.
- Participate in daily operational activities for a safe environment.
- Provide input to the Nurse Manager regarding unit needs.
- Participate in unit, departmental, and hospital committees.
- Complete physical assessments and identify potential clinical issues.
