Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant role is onsite in Astoria, NY, full-time, and pays $100,000–$110,000 per year. Steinway Inc’s Finance and Accounting team supports financial reporting and accounting processes for the company and Steinway & Sons. The role owns selected accounting work streams and helps improve financial reporting practices and internal controls. It supports close, reconciliations, commissions and bonus reporting, lease accounting, budgeting, audits, financial statements, and tax packages, while supervising staff accountants.

What you'll do

• Support month-end close and account reconciliations
• calculate and distribute retail commissions and sales and profitability bonuses
• compile and distribute departmental reports
• serve as a contact for retail financial questions
• manage lease accounting and reporting
• supervise staff accountants
• support daily and monthly accounting transactions under GAAP and internal controls
• assist with budgeting, audits, quarterly reviews, financial statements, and tax packages
• identify process improvements.
