Founding Engineer — Agentic Systems

The Founding Engineer — Agentic Systems role is onsite in San Francisco, CA. Base salary is $150,000–$300,000 per year. Clera is an early-stage team building agentic software for flexible-work and staffing operations. The engineer owns the agent layer and establishes how production agents are built, evaluated, and improved. The work supports product reliability and iteration through context systems, self-healing workflows, and reusable agent-development and evaluation tools.

What you'll do

• Build a context and self-learning system to improve agent performance
• develop workflows that detect production failures, diagnose causes, and recover autonomously
• build and maintain agent and meta-harnesses
• establish patterns for context, tracing, evaluation, and iterative improvement
• collaborate with technical leadership
• experiment rapidly
• help hire and grow the agent engineering team.
