Pump Mechanic/Maintenance Technician

Job overview

The Pump Mechanic/Maintenance Technician role is onsite in Quincy, MA, with pay of $27–$40 per hour. The position performs maintenance in an oleochemical refinery environment. The technician inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, aligns, installs, and overhauls pumps and other process equipment to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. The role also performs preventive maintenance and documents work while following refinery safety and environmental requirements.

What you'll do

• Diagnose, disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble pumps
• perform precision shaft alignment
• maintain valves and piping systems
• assemble flanges and replace gaskets
• install and maintain steam tracing
• maintain heat exchangers and process equipment
• perform rigging and machine-shop work
• conduct preventive and corrective maintenance
• document work in the CMMS
• participate in plant outages and shutdowns
• follow LOTO, confined-space, hot-work, and fall-protection procedures.
