Audit Associate

Job overview

The Audit Associate works onsite in Tyler, TX, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with overtime available as needed. Compensation is not specified. The role supports Southside Bank’s internal audit function and its annual integrated audit. The associate helps assess whether financial and operational procedures and controls comply with bank policies and industry practices. Through audit testing, documentation, risk assessment, and reporting support, the role contributes to effective oversight and improvement of bank controls.

What you'll do

• Assist with planning and executing internal audit engagements and SOX testing
• interview employees to understand workflows and technologies
• prepare workpapers
• document and communicate audit issues and recommendations
• assist with risk assessments and control flowcharts
• support external auditors and consultants
• help prepare audit reports
• maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable laws, regulations, and bank policies.

Why this role
