School Bus Monitor – Split Shift

The School Bus Monitor role is onsite in Lago Vista, TX, with a split-shift schedule Monday through Friday. Pay is $14.50 per hour. The role supports STA’s student transportation service by helping maintain passenger safety. The monitor assists the driver with safe student management during routes, including boarding and exiting, safety checks, and emergency evacuations. The role also communicates behavior concerns and bus-stop conditions with the driver and liaises with parents as needed.

What you'll do

• Monitor passengers for safety
• assist students entering and exiting the bus
• perform bus safety checks and check for sleeping children
• know routes and monitor passenger welfare
• assist the driver with safe backing when necessary
• conduct emergency evacuations
• communicate behavior issues and bus-stop conditions to the driver
• liaise with parents as needed
• help maintain bus cleanliness
• occasionally attend field trips and special events.
