The Shelter Advocate — Hummingbird Haven role is onsite in Los Angeles, CA. Pay is $24.04 per hour. CAST is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit providing services and advocacy for survivors of human trafficking; this role supports its Empowerment Programs and shelter operations. The advocate helps residents access safe shelter, resources, and short-term support. The role manages intake and daily house operations, responds to crises and conflicts, maintains records and confidentiality, and coordinates with shelter managers and case managers.

What you'll do

• Answer hotline calls
• conduct intake, screen referrals, assess needs, and coordinate emergency plans
• document calls and client interactions
• coordinate transportation and resident move-ins
• oversee shelter operations and safety checks
• support applications and client accompaniments
• respond to crises and resident conflicts
• maintain supplies, schedules, and administrative records
• cover shifts at either shelter as needed.
