Authorization Specialist

What you'll do

• Guide team members on authorization processes and payor requirements
• initiate and secure benefits, pre-authorizations, and re-authorizations through payor portals, fax, or telephone
• follow payor-based follow-up schedules
• manage complex requests including retroactive authorizations and Single Case Agreements
• verify authorization quantities, CPT codes, and effective dates in the practice management system
• coordinate clinical notes and supporting documentation with providers
• maintain a Payor Master List and authorization manuals
• review pre-certification requirements for compliance.
