Power Plant Operator

The Power Plant Operator is a regular, full-time onsite role in Adak, AK, reporting to the Utility Operations Manager. Compensation is not specified. TDX Adak Generating operates the Adak power plant and is responsible for providing power to customers in Adak. The operator directs and coordinates plant operations, maintenance, repairs, materials, and equipment to support efficient, safe, and reliable power generation. The role also responds to outages and customer concerns, maintains operational records, and coordinates work and training for site personnel.

What you'll do

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs
• troubleshoot generator sets
• monitor and safely operate generation equipment
• procure parts and supplies
• manage emergencies and utility outages
• recommend facility modifications
• maintain the maintenance management system and reports
• coordinate work priorities
• oversee maintenance and quality inspections
• respond to customer complaints
• comply with environmental health and safety programs
• assist with building upkeep and snow removal
• and ensure site personnel are trained.
