The Substance Use Counselor – Co-Occurring Disorders role is onsite across Straight and Narrow locations in Paterson, Secaucus, and Passaic, NJ. Pay is $28.00–$30.00 per hour. Straight and Narrow provides services to people experiencing substance use and co-occurring disorders through residential, outpatient, and community programs. The counselor provides clinical and case-management services to clients on an assigned caseload, supporting treatment requirements and continuity of care. The role works with a multidisciplinary treatment team and maintains clinical documentation in accordance with applicable program standards.

What you'll do

• Provide individual, group, and family counseling, didactic sessions, treatment planning, and case management
• maintain client charts
• attend multidisciplinary team meetings and supervision
• refer clients to other agencies as needed
• provide crisis intervention
• submit session documentation
• prepare reports
• support client participation in recovery activities
• follow electronic health record policies and professional boundaries.
