Philanthropy Specialist

Job overview

The Philanthropy Specialist role is based in Annapolis, MD, with occasional travel to partner sites throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Pay is $50 per hour for 20 hours per week. The work supports the National Park Service’s Chesapeake Gateways program through NEW Solutions’ Experienced Services Program. The specialist develops a philanthropic strategy and practical tools to help Chesapeake Gateways engage private-sector support and expand its impact. The work assesses funding opportunities and partnership models, then presents actionable recommendations for NPS leadership and partners.

What you'll do

• Document the public and private funding landscape for Chesapeake Gateways and network members.
• Assess potential funders, funding gaps, philanthropic trends, and partnership models.
• Develop a prioritized funding-opportunity matrix and a philanthropic strategic plan with implementation actions, roles, stewardship processes, presentations, and recommendations.
