Maintenance Service Manager — Howard County Homes

Compensation is $30–$35 per hour. The Maintenance Service Manager — Howard County Homes role is onsite in Ellicott City, MD, and Benton Communities manages multifamily and senior apartment homes across the Mid-Atlantic region. Reporting to the Community Manager, the Service Manager oversees property maintenance and service staff while handling repairs, preventive maintenance, and emergency conditions. The role helps preserve buildings and equipment and supports residents through responsive property services.

What you'll do

• Maintain furnaces, air conditioners, appliances, and other equipment
• perform general building repairs including carpentry, electrical, flooring, window, and plumbing work
• respond to sewer backups and flooding
• assign and supervise service staff and assist with training and evaluation
• report deficiencies
• coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and logs
• procure supplies and obtain contractor bids
• coordinate snow removal and common-area cleaning
• maintain service, equipment, warranty, and apartment maintenance records
• follow hazardous-material safety precautions.
