Specimen Collector Phlebotomist

Job overview

The Specimen Collector Phlebotomist role is onsite in Indianapolis, IN; compensation is $18–$21 per hour. Millennium Health is an accredited specialty laboratory providing medication monitoring and drug-testing services to support clinical decision-making. The collector obtains and processes patient specimens and serves as a link between clinics and the laboratory. Accurate collection, records and specimen handling support the laboratory’s testing services and the clinicians and patients it serves.

What you'll do

• Collect blood, urine and/or oral-fluid specimens
• process and package collections for shipping
• serve as an intermediary between practices or clinics and the laboratory
• record patient, physician-order and laboratory information
• resolve specimen concerns involving billing or patient information
• maintain collection supplies
• observe collections when applicable. Driving between facilities may be required.

Why this role

Schedule varies: mainly Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 10:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Wednesday 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation; phlebotomy certification or experience is sought.
