Information System Security Officer (ISSO) — DoD RMF

The Information System Security Officer (ISSO) role is onsite in Springfield, VA, supporting the U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. Compensation is not specified. Digital Consultants supports federal, civilian, and private-sector IT customers and describes its mission as delivering professional solutions and serving as a trusted partner and advisor. The ISSO provides hands-on cybersecurity engineering and Department of Defense Risk Management Framework support to maintain system authorizations to operate. The role contributes to the security and continued operation of Army Test Center information systems through security-control implementation and assessment, configuration management, vulnerability analysis, documentation, and continuous monitoring.

What you'll do

• Analyze proposed hardware and software security-baseline changes for performance, interoperability, and cybersecurity impacts
• support configuration management reviews, change control boards, defect tracking, and incident-finding validation
• support RMF categorization, boundary identification, security-control selection, implementation, and assessment
• prepare and maintain RMF artifacts, control evidence, POA&Ms, and authorization documentation
• conduct vulnerability management, security audits, DISA STIG compliance, and continuous monitoring
• coordinate control assessment, verification and validation, and ATO sustainment
• support assigned ATC LAN, LIN, STE, and T&EN environments and document results for Government stakeholders. Requires active Secret clearance, an approved DoD 8140 certification such as CASP+/SecurityX or CISSP, at least five years of relevant experience, and ability to maintain clearance and assigned SIPRNet access.
