What you'll do

• Clean and disinfect animal enclosures and related equipment
• inspect exhibits for cleanliness, safety, and structural condition
• maintain behavioral, veterinary, diet, and transfer records
• carry out veterinarian-prescribed treatments
• participate in enrichment, training, conditioning, capture, and restraint procedures
• monitor diets and feeding habits
• respond to visitor questions
• follow safety policies
• assist in training new keepers.

Why this role

Primate-care experience in a zoo setting is preferred, as is understanding of zoo-based conservation and breeding programs. A bachelor’s degree in biology, animal science, or a related field is preferred; one year of experience or equivalent education and experience is listed.
