The Controller role is onsite in Clearwater, FL, with compensation of $90,000–$95,000 per year. The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer at Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas, whose stated vision is a world where everyone has a safe, affordable place to live. The Controller leads and performs accounting operations, financial reporting, audit preparation, and process improvement. The role strengthens financial controls and provides analysis to support the CFO and organizational decision-making, including work related to grants, construction finances, and mortgage and escrow processes.

What you'll do

• Oversee receivables, payables, cash management, cost accounting, and the general ledger
• process cash disbursements and deposits as needed
• oversee deposits, mortgage activity, ACH/wires, and NSF items
• prepare mortgage remittances
• maintain the chart of accounts and project codes
• review and approve disbursements
• lead monthly close and prepare financial statements and reporting packages
• analyze budget-to-actual results
• oversee job costing and construction-in-process entries
• partner with Construction on budgets and job performance
• maintain internal controls and GAAP compliance
• lead annual audit and IRS Form 990 preparation
• improve processes and oversee financial systems
• supervise and develop accounting staff.
