The Veterinary Medicine Intern role is onsite in Tyler, TX. Compensation is $580.62 biweekly before taxes and applicable deductions. The intern supports the Caldwell Zoo Veterinary Department and gains supervised exposure to zoological and wildlife medicine. The internship exists to provide educational experience for students and recent graduates pursuing veterinary, zoological, or wildlife health careers. Under veterinary staff supervision, interns assist with animal assessments, diagnostics, hospital operations, records, and animal care.

What you'll do

• Assist with physical and visual examinations, procedure preparation, and clinical skills development
• assist with sample collection and diagnostic testing
• help clean and maintain the veterinary hospital and equipment
• assist with electronic medical records using ZIMS
• help care for hospitalized or quarantine animals
• participate in guest interaction opportunities.
