Polk County Community Counselor

Job overview

The Polk County Community Counselor role is onsite in New Port Richey, FL, with compensation of $50,000–$55,000 per year. The counselor works under the direct supervision of the Program Director and a licensed clinician, providing services to youth and families. The counselor conducts assessments and therapy, coordinates referrals and case management, and supports youth in education and pro-social development. Trauma-informed practice and collaboration with families, schools, and community contacts support safe, respectful service delivery.

What you'll do

• Conduct assessments, psychosocial evaluations, and treatment planning
• provide individual, group, and family counseling and support
• complete intake, referrals, transportation coordination, school attendance monitoring, and case management
• maintain client documentation and follow-ups
• communicate with schools and client contacts
• advocate for clients in specified court processes and represent YFA or the child in court proceedings
• participate in supervision, meetings, and required training.
