Mental Health Technician II

Job overview

The Mental Health Technician II role is onsite in Albion, IN, in an inpatient hospital setting and full-time. Pay is $20–$22 per hour. Hickory Recovery provides acute care for adults experiencing mental health conditions or co-occurring disorders. The technician provides direct patient support and helps implement patient-centered treatment plans by monitoring safety, encouraging treatment participation, assisting nursing staff, and communicating observations to the treatment team. The role also supports admissions, discharges, documentation, and compliance with care and safety standards.

What you'll do

• Encourage participation in groups and treatment programs
• monitor patients and assist when they are not in programs
• assist with telephone use and outdoor breaks
• support nursing staff during medication passes
• report patient concerns
• monitor ordered observation levels
• conduct room searches and rounds
• activate emergency plans when needed
• perform intake and discharge procedures
• document belongings and shift notes
• communicate observations
• follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and patient-care requirements
• participate in quality improvement.
