The Early Learning Professional (Child Care Support Staff) role is onsite in Kalamazoo, MI. Compensation is $16 per hour. The position supports the YWCA’s Children’s Center and its early learning program for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Working with a teaching team, this role supports children’s care, development, safety, and learning in a structured environment. It helps deliver age-appropriate activities, observe developmental progress, communicate with families, and coordinate with program staff.

What you'll do

• Assist children with daily activities including toileting, hygiene, dressing, and eating
• organize and implement age-appropriate learning activities within the approved curriculum
• observe and assess children using Teaching Strategies GOLD and ASQ-3/ASQ-SE
• supervise activities to support safety and socialization
• communicate with parents about daily activities, progress, and behavior
• assist with activity materials and room cleanliness
• accompany and supervise children on field trips
• monitor children’s health
• follow licensing requirements, center policies, and required child-abuse reporting procedures.
